Evolution seems like a chain where things get better and better, but in reality, it's just the frequency in which the species reproduces. So by evolutionary standards, whoever has more children is more successful. But by society's standards, that is not always the case.
One example is that a person who's rich, has a PHD, and an MD, decides to have 1 child with his wife, who also has a PHD and an MD. Another person, who's irresponsible, poor, and dropped out of high school, has 10 children. By society's standards, the one with 10 children is unsuccessful. But from an evolutionary point of view, he's more successful.
Another example is that about 80% of people who live in africa are related to one guy, who lived many years ago. That guy may have pillaged many villages, and killed many people, but he is still successful from an evolutionary point of view. His actions may be despicable, but he is still successful from an evolutionary point of view.
I watched the whole video on Intelligent Design and Evolution, on Khan Academy, and I personally believe in evolution. Thanks for reading!
