Today, I'm writing about my 4th of July weekend...well...the Friday before it at least. We saw fireworks, a concert, and a water-ski show that same day, and place! It was really fun, I have to admit.
We got there at 5:00 pm, and it was surprisingly crowded considering the fact that it was 2 hours before anything started. My parents and I got the blanket, cooler, and water set up first. After that we had the chicken sandwiches mom had packed. I then took off my sandals and threw some rocks in the water.About a half hour later, some boats came around, over the water, and created huge wakes. I had never seen wakes, and they sounded really nice when they hit the shore. We got the popcorn out of the bag and had some, while that was happening.
Around an hour and 15 minutes later, me and dad went out and threw a football back and forth. I could never get the spiral right, and neither could dad. It was kinda funny. Both of us kept missing the ball, too. I almost hit someone, but dad caught it at the last second.
We headed back after 45 minutes and watched the water-ski show. They set up a ramp, and the water-skiers would go up and do tricks in midair. For example, one of them waved, while another was doing a front-flip. One of them might've done a full split! It was really, really exciting.
Around the middle of the show, the band came on. They played a bunch of classic rock songs, none of which I know the names of, but they sounded good. We ran out of popcorn, and got out the second container that we brought. To entertain us while we waited for the fireworks, mom downloaded the free version of a trivia app on her phone. Sadly, we ran out of questions within 10 minutes, and she then bought the full version.
At 9:15, the fireworks were supposed to start. The people who sent the fireworks up suddenly went into the forest for 15 minutes, then came back, and started the show. There were lots of fireworks, there was one that looked like a ring, one of them that exploded twice, and there was even a smiley face
We got home at 10:30, and watched TV until 11:00. I had to go to bed at that point. After all, it was a great day.
