Recently, I read the invisible man by H.G. Wells. It's about a stranger who visits an English village inn in the middle of winter, all covered up, with bandages on his face, a jacket, a scarf, snow pants, a fedora, and boots. The only thing that isn't covered is his big pink nose.
The other people in the inn keep asking him to uncover himself, and he does eventually. He takes off the pink nose, it was fake, but he's nowhere to be found suddenly. They can only hear his voice. He then opens the door and leaves.
He goes to the home of a friend he knew from before he was invisible, named Kemp. He says that his name is Griffin. He then explains everything that happened, and says that he became invisible by drinking a liquid called strychnine. After becoming invisible, he went outside, and explored the town a bit.
With power comes responsibility, though, and Griffin only has power. He decides to go on a killing spree, but (Of course) Kemp doesn't go along with the idea. Griffin says that Kemp is going to be the first person he kills, and just leaves. He's still visible, though, because he leaves footprints in the snow.
Kemp calls the police, and they find the invisible man. He tries to kill Kemp, but the police stop him. He gets free of them and wounds Kemp, then leaves again. They find him in the subway, and wound him badly. He becomes visible again, and they bring him to a hospital.
