Freak the mighty book review.

Recently, I read Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick. The main characters were named max and freak, and they grew opposite ways. Freak's mind grew much faster than his body, where it was just the other way for max. They meet and soon become friends. Freak got into a [pun intended] freak accident and broke his legs. Max gives freak piggyback rides through most of the story.

Like I said before, max's body grew faster than his brain, so he needs freak's help a lot. There are a few things that he still doesn't get, like words that freak says. His father is in jail for murder.

Freak needs Max's help to move, because he has 2 broken legs. He has the brain of a 45 year old, but the body of a 2 year old. He also has a very active imagination. His father is never mentioned in the story.

Freak and max may be somewhat opposite, but they're really good friends. They need each other's help a lot. When Max gives Freak a piggyback ride, they call themselves freak the mighty. They make a very good team.

I would personally recommend this book to all kids 7 and up. The ending is a bit sad, but those ages can handle it. I don't want to spoil any of the book for you, so I'll finish the report here. Thanks for reading!
